Project Hub

The Project Hub is your central workspace for managing all projects. It provides a structured, folder-based view that scales as your portfolio grows — with sample projects, personal folders, and quick access to everything in one place.

Accessing the Project Hub

From the Home Dashboard

The first card in the Home dashboard stats strip shows your total project count. Click it to go directly to the Project Hub.

From the Sidebar

Click the grid icon (⊞) at the top of the left navigation bar — it is the first icon below your organisation logo.

Layout

The Project Hub has three areas:

Folders

Folders are personal — the way you organise your projects does not affect what your teammates see. Each user maintains their own folder structure.

Expandable Folder View

Every folder in the sidebar has a ▶/▼ chevron on its left. Click the chevron (or the folder row) to expand it and see all projects inside listed below — without leaving your current view. Click a project name in the expanded list to open it directly.

▼ R&D (2) [⋮]
↳ Alpha Project
↳ Beta Prototype
▶ Client A (3) [⋮]

Create a Folder

  1. In the left sidebar, find the Folders section header
  2. Click + New (to the right of "Folders")
  3. Type a folder name and press Enter (or click away to confirm)
  4. The folder appears immediately in the sidebar with a count of 0

Rename or Delete a Folder

Hover over any folder row to reveal the menu on the right. Click it to:

  • Rename — type a new name and press Enter
  • Delete — projects inside become uncategorised; nothing is deleted

Move a Project into a Folder

  1. Hover over the project card to reveal the menu (top-right of card)
  2. Click Move to folder
  3. Select the destination folder from the sub-menu
  4. To remove from a folder, choose No folder

The folder badge updates on the card immediately.

The Samples Folder

A Samples folder appears automatically in the sidebar for all users. It is marked with a 🔒 lock icon to indicate it is read-only.

The Samples folder contains industry-standard reference projects:

  • Automotive: Battery Management System — ISO 26262
  • Aerospace: Flight Control System — DO-178C
  • Medical: Automated Insulin Delivery System — IEC 62304

Sample projects cannot be edited, moved, or deleted. They are there for reference and as starting points.

Copies of Samples

A Copies of Samples folder is automatically created in your sidebar as a nudge to duplicate a sample and adapt it to your own work. It starts empty — open any sample project, click ⋮ → Duplicate, and move the copy into this folder to begin.

Best practice

Duplicating a sample is the fastest way to start a real project. You get a complete requirements hierarchy, FMEA analyses, and traceability links that you can then adapt to your specific product.

The search bar at the top of the main area filters projects by name in real time. The filter applies within whichever folder is currently selected in the sidebar.

View Modes

Toggle between grid (cards) and list (rows) using the icons to the right of the search bar.

Project Card Actions

Each project card has a menu (hover the card to make it prominent). Available actions:

ActionDescription
OpenNavigate into the project
Move to folderAssign to a personal folder
DuplicateCreate a copy of the project (including optional FMEA)
DeletePermanently delete (confirmation required)

Clicking anywhere on the card body also opens the project.

Creating a New Project

Click + New Project in the top-right of the hub header. The same project creation modal is also accessible from the Home dashboard.

Tips

  • Uncategorised — projects not in any folder appear under "No folder" at the bottom of the sidebar when expanded.
  • Sample projects — live in the read-only Samples folder and cannot be moved to personal folders.
  • Counts — the number next to each folder shows how many projects are in that folder (for personal folders, these are your projects only).
  • Duplicating samples — use the Copies of Samples folder to keep your starting points organised.
